Insights

What two apps can’t show you.

Your daily protein and your hard sets per muscle group, on one time axis, over 8 or 12 weeks. Track lifting in one app and food in another and this picture never exists.

Food

Protein, every day

Your average daily protein, week by week, against your target.

Training

Hard sets, every week

The sets that counted, for the muscle group you pick.

Then one plain sentence: the hard sets you did in the weeks you reached your protein target, against the weeks you didn’t.

Insights: weekly bars of average daily protein with a line of hard sets for chest over 12 weeks, and a sentence comparing the weeks.

Training

Built for the gym floor.

  • Last session’s weight and reps wait in every field, with steppers beside them.
  • Tick a set and the rest timer starts on its own, on the Lock Screen too.
  • Records are worked out from your sets, so fixing an old set fixes the record.
  • Log your sets from Apple Watch, with the phone in your bag.
  • A workout in progress survives the app closing, timer included.
Bench press progression: the estimated one-rep max over 12 weeks as a rising line, and the sessions below it.

Food

A food diary that keeps its word.

  • Scan a barcode (EAN-13, EAN-8 and UPC-A), or point the camera at the nutrition label.
  • Identify with AI: photograph a plate and check the foods it finds before anything is logged. The photo is analysed in the EU and not stored.
  • An entry keeps the calories and macros it had when you logged it, even if the catalog changes later.
  • Your own foods and recipes log like anything else.
A scanned food, cottage cheese: servings, 196 kcal with its protein, carbs and fat, and a button to log it to lunch.

3D demos

See how it’s done.

142 exercises come with a 3D demo on their page, so you can check the movement between sets. The library has 876 exercises in all.

  • Incline bench press
  • Hack squat
  • Seated overhead press
  • Wide-grip lat pulldown

The rules

Honest by design.

  • Works with no signal

Training never waits for the network. A basement gym is fine.

  • No “calories burned” added back

Lifting estimates can be off by 60% either way, so they never go into your food budget.

  • No ads, nothing sold

No ads and no trackers. Anonymous usage data is shared only if you turn it on.

  • Your data leaves when you do

Export everything as one file, or delete your account and every row of it, from the app.

  • No caps on the basics

Every set and every meal you log is free to log, as many as you like.

  • Bring your history

Import your workouts and meals from Hevy and MyFitnessPal.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is GramRep free?

Logging your training and your food is free, with no caps on the basics: every set, every meal, the barcode and label scan, Apple Watch and the 3D demos. An optional Pro plan comes later; its price will be on this page before it is on sale.

Is there an Android app?

Not yet. GramRep is being built for iPhone and Apple Watch first; Android follows once the iPhone app is complete.

Does it work with Apple Watch?

Yes. Log your sets from your wrist during a workout.

Does it work without a signal?

Training works fully offline, always: routines, the live workout, the rest timer, history. Your food diary works offline too. Searching the food catalog and Identify with AI need a connection.

Can I bring my history from another app?

Yes, from Hevy and MyFitnessPal: export your data there and import the file in GramRep, under You.

Why doesn’t GramRep add the calories I burned lifting?

Because the estimate is a guess that can be off by 60% either way, and adding it to your food budget lets you eat it back. GramRep never does, and that will not change.

Where is my data stored?

On your phone. No account is needed. If you sign in to sync between devices, your data is also kept on Amazon Web Services in Frankfurt, Germany. You can export everything as one file, or delete your account and every row of it, from the app.

Which languages does it speak?

English, Romanian, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese (Brazil). This website is in English.

When can I get it?

Soon. GramRep is coming to the App Store for iPhone.
