GramRep terms of use
Effective 2026-10-11. These terms are between you and PROJECT CIP S.R.L., a Romanian company that runs the GramRep app and its optional account and sync service. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not, do not use the app.
Their first version was dated 2026-09-20, the day it was finished: the app was not in the App Store yet and the sync service was not running, so these terms bound nobody on that date. They apply to you from the day you install the app.
Who you are contracting with:
- PROJECT CIP S.R.L., a limited liability company under Romanian law (societate cu răspundere limitată), registered on 30 April 2025
- registered office: Bulevardul Dacia nr. 133, etaj D, sector 2, Bucharest, Romania
- Trade Register number: J2025030670009
- sole registration code (CUI): 51711091
- subscribed and paid-up share capital: 200 RON
- e-mail: contact@archthorpe.com
Your copy of the app is licensed to you under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which you accepted with the App Store. These terms are about the service behind the app, the optional account, and what the app's numbers mean.
What GramRep is
GramRep logs strength training, logs food, and shows how the two relate. It works entirely on your phone without an account. An account is optional and does two things: it copies your rows to our server so a second phone can show them and a lost phone does not lose them, and it lets you search our food catalog. How your data is handled is in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
Your account
- One account is one e-mail address. You sign in with a link sent to that address; there is no password. Keep the mailbox secure: whoever can read it can sign in as you.
- You are responsible for what is done from your account, and for signing out on a phone you give away.
- You must be 16 or older to create an account.
Your content
Everything you log, your workouts, your diary, your measurements, the foods, recipes, routines and exercises you create, and the notes you write, is yours. You give us permission to store it, to copy it between your signed-in phones, and to show it back to you. That permission ends when you delete it or delete the account; it never covers selling it, sharing it for advertising, or using it for anything but running the service for you.
You can take all of it with you at any time as one file: You, then Account, then Export my data. Do that before you delete the account, because deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
Foods you add, and the catalog
A food you add is a special case, and it is the only thing in the app that can ever be shown to another person. This section says exactly when that happens and what you are agreeing to. Nothing else you write is covered by it.
What is private, and stays private. A food you add is visible to you alone. It stays that way unless we check it against the product it describes. Nothing you add appears to anyone else before that check, and a food we do not check never appears to anyone else at all.
What you allow us to do with a food you add. For each food you add, and for that food only, you give us permission to store it, to copy it, to put it in the food catalog that GramRep searches, to show it to other people using GramRep, to correct it, and to let someone else run the catalog on these same terms if we ever stop running it ourselves. The permission is free of charge, worldwide, and lasts as long as the catalog does. You are not paid for it and you are not giving up ownership of anything.
Exactly what that covers: the facts about the product, and nothing else. The food's name, its brand, its barcode, the serving sizes you defined, and the nutrition figures you entered for it — per hundred grams, per millilitre or per serving. That is a description of a packaged product on a shop shelf. It is not a description of you.
Exactly what it never covers:
- your diary — not one entry, not one date, not one amount you ate, not one daily total;
- your name, your e-mail address, your account, or anything else that says who added the food;
- your workouts, your sets, your measurements, your notes, your routines or your recipes.
A food in the catalog carries no author. Nobody who sees it can tell that it was you.
What you are promising us. That the figures are ones you read off the packet, worked out from it, or otherwise have the right to share — not ones you copied out of another company's food database or another app.
Taking it back. You can ask us to withdraw a food from the catalog at any time, by writing to contact@archthorpe.com, and we will take it out. One thing we cannot do is reach a copy that has already been downloaded to somebody else's phone, or that somebody has already built on. That is why the permission you give does not expire for copies that have already gone out, and it is the reason this section exists instead of a promise we could not keep. Deleting your account takes your diary, your workouts and your measurements with it; a food already published to the catalog is not yours alone any more, and stays.
The catalog's own licence travels with it. Part of the catalog comes from Open Food Facts and is under the Open Database License, which obliges us to offer the catalog onward on the same terms. A food you publish sits in that catalog, so it may go out under that licence too. What is in the previous paragraphs still holds: the facts about the product travel, and nothing about you does.
Acceptable use
Use the app for your own training and your own diary. Do not:
- attempt to reach the server other than through the app, or send it more than a person could with a phone in hand. This does not cover what we publish for anyone to fetch: these terms, the privacy policy and the support page, and the food catalog download at https://api.archthorpe.com/data/food-catalog together with anything else the Open Database License obliges us to offer. Those you may read and download with any tool;
- try to sign in as someone else, or interfere with anyone else's account;
- put anything unlawful, or anything about another person that they would not want stored, into a note, a name or a description;
- pull the food catalog or the exercise catalog out of the app wholesale in order to run a database of your own off our servers. What you may do with those catalogs is set by their own licences, not by us: they are listed under Attributions in the app, and where a licence gives you a right — as the Open Database License does for the Open Food Facts part — this sentence does not take it away. There is no need to scrape the food catalog: the whole of it can be downloaded, free and without an account, at https://api.archthorpe.com/data/food-catalog.
Social and the community rules
Social is optional. It needs an account, and it starts only when you create a profile. To create one you must be 16 or older, and you confirm that you are. What a profile and a post show, who sees them, and how long they are kept is in the privacy policy.
What you post. A post is a summary of a workout you logged, with a title if you write one. It stays yours. For each post, you give us permission to store it, to copy it and to show it to the audience you chose for it, free of charge, for as long as the post exists. That permission ends when you delete the post, turn social off or delete the account, and it never covers selling the post or using it for advertising.
The community rules. In a handle, a display name, a post title or an exercise name, and in what you do in social, do not:
- post spam, or advertise;
- harass, threaten or bully anyone;
- attack anyone for who they are, such as their origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability or body;
- post sexual content;
- encourage anyone to harm themselves, including through starving, purging or dangerous training;
- pass yourself off as another person or another organisation;
- post a workout you did not do, or numbers you made up, to rank higher or to mislead;
- post anything unlawful, or anyone else's personal data;
- get around a block, a suspension or the daily limits, for example with another account.
Checks and limits. Before a handle, a display name, a post title or an exercise name is saved, it is checked automatically against lists of offensive words and refused if it contains one, a web address, an e-mail address or a phone number. Each account can follow, post, give kudos, report, block and mute only so many times a day, and can change its handle once in 30 days. A handle you stop using stays unavailable to others for 30 days after you change it or delete the account, and for about 60 days after you turn social off; then it can be taken by someone else.
Reports and moderation
Reporting. In the app you can report a post or a profile, choose a reason and add a note. Anyone, with or without an account, can also tell us about content they believe is unlawful by writing to contact@archthorpe.com: say where it is, why you believe it is unlawful, and who you are, unless the law lets you stay anonymous. This address is also our single point of contact for authorities and for users under the Digital Services Act, Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, in English or Romanian.
What we do. A person reads every report, and we aim to decide within 24 hours. We may keep the content, hide it, restore it, or suspend the account from social; a suspension stops the account from using social and does not touch the rest of the account. A post that three different people report is hidden until it has been reviewed. We do not tell the person reported who reported them.
Why, and how to disagree. When we hide something of yours or suspend your account from social, you see the decision and the reason for it in your activity in the app, including which rule it was based on. If you disagree, write to contact@archthorpe.com within six months and a person who did not take the decision will look at it again. You can also go to court, and the out-of-court routes under "Law and disputes" stay open to you.
Repeated misuse. We may suspend from social an account that keeps breaking the community rules, or that keeps sending reports that are plainly unfounded, after warning it first where we can.
The numbers are estimates
GramRep is a logbook and a calculator, not a laboratory.
- The nutrition figures for a packaged food come from a public database that anyone can edit, or from a government reference database, and either can be wrong or out of date. The figure the app stored for a diary entry is the figure it had on the day you logged it, and it is not rewritten later.
- A nutrition table read with the camera is a reading, not a fact: the text recogniser can misread a digit, a column or a unit. Check what the app shows against the label before you save it.
- A weight you type is what the app trusts. It does not verify it.
- Personal records, weekly volume, the protein-against-volume view and every trend are computed from your own entries, so they are exactly as right as those entries.
One rule is a permanent commitment of the product: an estimate of calories burned from lifting is never fed into your food budget. Such estimates are routinely wrong by half or more, and the app will not quietly add them to what you may eat.
Generate with AI
Generate with AI suggests a training plan from your answers and, if you allow it, from your recent training. The plan is written by an AI model and can be wrong: an exercise that does not suit you, too much, or too little. It is a suggestion, not advice, and the section "Not medical advice" applies to it in full. Read it before you save it, change what does not suit you, and stop any exercise that hurts.
Each account can ask for 10 plans a day, 3 of them trying harder; a day is counted in UTC. If a plan is wrong or unsafe, report it in the app; that helps us improve the plans. We may change the models, the limits or the feature, or stop it, without notice; a plan you saved stays in your routines.
Not medical advice
Nothing in GramRep is medical, dietary or training advice. Protein and calorie targets are arithmetic on numbers you enter, not a recommendation for you. Talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before changing what you eat or how you train, especially if you are pregnant, have a medical condition or an eating disorder, or are under 18. If you feel unwell during a workout, stop.
Price
You pay for GramRep once, when you buy it from the App Store. The price is the one the App Store shows you in your country before you buy, and it can differ from one country to another. Apple takes the payment and handles any refund under Apple's own terms, so a refund is asked for from Apple; we never see your payment details.
Everything in the app comes with that one purchase. Nothing inside it is sold separately today. If a paid feature is added, it will be sold through Apple and will come with its own description, price and terms before you pay anything. None of this takes away a right that the consumer law of your country gives you.
Availability
The app on your phone keeps working whether or not our server does. Sync, sign-in and catalog search need the server, and we do not promise it will always be up. We may change or stop the sync service; if we stop it for good, we will say so in the app at least 30 days before, so you can export your data. Your rows on the phone are unaffected.
Ending things
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. You can delete your account and everything on the server from inside the app: You, then Account, then Delete account.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is used to attack the service, or that the law requires us to close. Where we can, we will tell you at the address on the account and give you the chance to export your data first.
Our responsibility
We provide the app and the service as they are. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for a lost workout, a wrong nutrition figure, a decision you take on the basis of what the app shows, or for the service being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in, or our liability for anything that cannot be limited by law.
Third parties
Food data comes from Open Food Facts under the Open Database License (ODbL) and from USDA FoodData Central, which is in the public domain. Exercise data comes from free-exercise-db under the Unlicense. Crash reports are handled by Sentry. Each is credited, with its licence, under You, then Attributions in the app.
Because our food catalog is built from Open Food Facts, the ODbL puts obligations on us as well as on Open Food Facts: to credit them, to offer the catalog onward under the same licence, and to give anyone who uses it a way to obtain the database itself rather than only the screens built on it. The database is offered at https://api.archthorpe.com/data/food-catalog: the entire catalog, free, with no account, with its licence and a description of how it was made.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the new version ships with the app update that needs it, the date at the top changes, and the change is listed here. If a change takes something away from you, we will say so in the app before it applies.
- 2026-09-20: first version.
- 2026-10-11: the sections "Social and the community rules", "Reports and moderation" and "Generate with AI" added.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Romania. If you live in another country of the European Union, you keep the protection of the consumer law of that country. Any dispute goes to the courts of Romania, or, if you are a consumer, to the courts of the country you live in.
Before going to court, write to contact@archthorpe.com; most problems are a misunderstanding.
If that does not settle it and you are a consumer, you do not have to go to court to be heard. In Romania you may complain to the Autoritatea Națională pentru Protecția Consumatorilor (ANPC, anpc.ro), and you may ask for the dispute to be settled out of court through ANPC's alternative dispute resolution body, set up under Government Ordinance 38/2015; applications are made at reclamatiisal.anpc.ro. If you live in another country of the European Union, the European Consumer Centre in your own country can take up a cross-border complaint on your behalf.
We do not name the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform, and this is deliberate rather than an omission: it stopped accepting complaints on 20 March 2025 and closed on 20 July 2025, when Regulation (EU) 2024/3228 repealed the regulation that created it. Terms that still link to it are sending people to a service that is gone.
Language
These terms are written in English. A Romanian translation is published with them and is under legal review; until a lawyer has approved it, the English text is the one that applies. Translations into other languages will follow.
